Future Professional Speaks Out

Wes P. was reading through the SFIEC Yelp page and took some time to review his school.  Here is what he had to say:

FUTURE students this review is for you.
Reading through all these reviews I found one thing missing… where are the reviews from the actual students or past graduates? Well if you are looking into going to SFIEC for your Education read on…

I am a PROUD graduate of SFIEC. Everything I learned about hair started at SFIEC. Being a student can be frustrating. It can be even more frustrating when you are working in an hour-based program that the California state board requires you to do. You will be in school for 1600 hours. It is important that you make the right choice to spend those 1600 hours in. You want a school that has diversity, cleanliness, professionalism and above all great education! Sfiec offers this and So much more.
When I first started at SFIEC it was only one of two partner schools. This school here in San Francisco was the **FIRST** Paul Mitchell partner school… Ever! The owner Deedee changed our industry and its education process when she opened SFIEC and formed her partnership with Paul Mitchell. You now see her vision being used by many other companies such as Aveda and Toni & guy. On top of getting one on one time with Deedee, the woman who created a huge change in our industry, you also get taught by some of the best instructors around. These people have dedicated the lives they lead to teaching.
When you come here as a student you will learn how to pass your state board exam. On top of that you will learn the very latest in fashion trends. Cuts and colors. You will also learn how to work with a professional company like Paul Mitchell and how to prescribe products to your clients. As a stylist it is important to know how to help a client in need to find the right products for his/her hair. You will also have the RARE experience to do professional photo shoots and runway shows. That in it-self is a rare opportunity, even if you are a stylist working in a salon. It will allow you a chance to understand what it is like to work with a big company like Paul Mitchell.
As a student at SFIEC you will create bonds and friendships that will carry far into your professional career. Leading to many opportunities. Even today, years later, I pull on my experiences and training from this school to create the best looks and make any client that sits in my chair happy. The teachers at this school taught me how to cut a perfect line and create the best color: while others at the school taught me about the business half of our industry. Without this school my path to where I am at today would have been much longer and harder. I am thankful for my experiences here and I know the education I received was unparallel to any other beauty school in the state of California.
If you want the best education you can get come to SFIEC. It is worth every penny. While you are a student take time to pick the brains of your instructors and the people around you. You will learn a lot. With so much competition in the city for beauty schools you as a future “professional” student should know this is the place to go. An education from here sets your foundation for a miraculous future in this great industry.

I was skeptical at first but couldn’t pass up trying a $15 hair cut.  It took two hours, but Yuliya gave my curly hair an awesome cut and one of the best blow-outs I’ve ever had. They bring you coffee and tea and everyone is super friendly. I will definitely go back to the SFIEC!

Thank  you good people of yelp!!  I am so glad I checked this place out, it’s super close to my house, 6 minute walk, which makes it even greater.  I haven’t had my hair cut in 9 months, so I was definitely needing it, plus my hair is super long and thick so I was extremely nervous about someone hacking it off too much.  My hair stylist was great, Janina was a sweet heart, she could tell I was super scared and she came at me with full confidence, which is something I definitely need from whoever is cutting my hair.  She is only there for another 4 weeks, so I am a little nervous about tryin someone else out cuz I know it is always a hit or miss, but luckily tonight it was a hit!

On Wed. I took my 10 year old twins to get their hair relaxed and cut. Their hair is very coarse and thick and difficult for most hair stylists to do and they cry whenver I work with their hair. Now I know where I will be going to get their hair done. It only cost $90.00 total. That also included a haircut and style. Today is Friday and they still can’t stop looking at themselves in the mirror or store window or rearview mirrors, etc! I will be able to style their hair with ease and I love seeing them so happy. Danielle B. and Zoe F. are amazing future professionals and I recommend them for all your styling needs.

Rosa Lee was an amazing eyebrow artist. She communicated with me, and we came to a conclusion together about what shape is best for me. She made me feel very comfortable. My brows look great! Natural but arched.

I would recommend Rosa and the SFIEC to anyone. Plus it was a great value!
